A Legacy of Compassion and Advocacy
Our group was born from lived experience and a deep sense of compassion. Founded in 2016 by Tracie Alexander, a transgender woman who personally understood the challenges facing the Trans-TGI community, the organization began with a vision of providing essential support and guidance. Starting from her own resources, Tracie offered food, temporary housing, and other forms of assistance to Trans-TGI individuals in need. Her personal journey and the discrimination she witnessed inspired her to create an organization that would make a lasting difference, leading to our formal 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2022.
Today, Unique Trans-ition continues to embody the compassion and resilience with which it was founded. We address the unmet needs of the Trans-TGI community by providing tailored support services, fostering empowerment, and promoting wellness. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where individuals can find the resources they need to build better futures. Each day, we work to honor Tracie’s legacy by ensuring that the Trans-TGI community has access to respectful, culturally relevant, and impactful services that promote stability and self-sufficiency.
